Nature of Tests
All over the world objective tests are replacing the traditional essay type examinations for admission to various professional courses.
Even in India marked trend is noticed towards entrance tests in non-traditional programmes and professional courses. Although aggregate percentage in the graduation is still a very important criterion, it is becoming secondary to the performance of the student at the entrance test.
The basic difference in entrance test and university exams is in university exam we have one or two page question paper and more than thirty pages answer sheet while in entrance test the question paper will be of thirty or forty pages and answer sheet became one page. Thus it requires proper training to give answer of the questions.
Purpose of Entrance Tests
The entrance tests are not intelligence tests, although some of the terms used are similar to those used in intelligence tests. The scores simply indicate which students are likely to do well in the particular course. However, the test Scores are not the only criterion for the final selection, especially for the IIMs and other good institutes.

Other than general awareness question may appear in the examination.
ABOUT ENTRANCE EXAMS
Now it is clear that M.B.A and M.C.A are most rewarded and job oriented courses available for students. For getting admission in these courses student must have to clear Entrance exam. This exam checks abilities like quantitative aptitude, Analytical Reasoning ( Verbal and Non- Verbal), Data interpretation and English. For M.B.A students after clearing Entrance exam they have to perform in Group Discussion and Personal Interview and the total of all these will make the merit no. of the student.
